A-level Art work
Here I am displaying my sewing machine skills as well as my ability to experiment with different material in order to create an eye-catching end results. Working with flower petal really enhances the appearance of this piece creating an innovative piece of work.
A-level Art work
Working on the sewing machine and using Victorian nude photographs I have sewn a dress on the model to give her a more conservative appearance. I used subtle colours and deliberately made sure that the dress is not completely solid in order to sustain the cheekiness of the original photograph.
A-level Art work
Here I updated the model's style by completing her look fashioning her with a sewn on head piece worthy of Ascot.
As-coursework garment
The next three photographs depict the dress that I made as part of my AS Textiles coursework. I was inspired by designers such as Elie Saab and Madame Grès. I dyed the chiffon which was originally ivory by hand to create a water colour effect. As well as showing my ability to design and sew the photographs also show my ability to style the model and carryout a successful photoshoot.
